Tenancy Sustainment Officer

Location: Field Based across Co. Durham and Northeast region
Working Hours: 18.5 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £25,877.80 - £34,240.03

*Please note this roles required a valid Driving Licence and access to your own Vehicle.

As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you’ll deliver tailored housing-related support while working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure tenants live safely and independently.

You’ll take a proactive, person-centred approach, helping individuals overcome barriers, manage their tenancies, and move towards long-term stability.

Key responsibilities

Tenant support & engagement

  • Deliver one on one support through keywork sessions and develop personalised Tenancy Sustainment Plans (TSPs)
  • Support tenants with complex needs to maintain independent living
  • Carry out and review risk assessments regularly
  • Help tenants access health, housing, welfare and support services

Housing management support

  • Assist with rent arrears, benefits claims, and financial wellbeing
  • Support the management of anti-social behaviour and tenancy issues
  • Respond to tenancy abandonment and property-related issues
  • Ensure properties are safe, secure, and maintained in line with standards

Partnership working

  • Work closely with local authorities and external agencies to provide holistic support
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to coordinated care plans
  • Build strong relationships with community organisations and services

Compliance & administration

  • Maintain accurate records and use internal systems effectively
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safeguarding requirements
  • Coordinate essential safety checks (gas, electrical etc.)

What we’re looking for

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and respond to changing priorities
  • Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to write clear, accurate reports
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach
  • Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and safeguarding
