About the Role

As a Service Volunteer, you will play an important role in supporting young people accessing Aquarius services in Bedford. Working alongside our practitioners, you will provide practical and emotional support through one-to-one sessions, group activities and community events. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference while developing new skills within a supportive and inclusive team. Full training, regular supervision and ongoing guidance will be provided throughout your volunteering journey.

Key Duties

  • Support practitioners during one-to-one sessions with service users.
  • Assist with the delivery of groups, activities and workshops.
  • Provide practical support, including accompanying people to appointments where appropriate.
  • Help organise and support community events and engagement activities.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Aquarius and Waythrough.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with service users and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate communication and report back on agreed tasks.
  • Adhere to organisational policies, professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
  • Attend training, supervision and team meetings as required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about supporting others. You'll be a good communicator with strong organisational skills and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. You will be non-judgemental, able to maintain professional boundaries and committed to the values of kindness, courage and respect. An interest in supporting young people and a willingness to learn through training and supervision are essential, while good IT and written communication skills will help you succeed in the role.
