Quality & Compliance Specialist

Location: Home-based within Yorkshire or Northwest due to travel required across the services within the region.
Working Hours: 26 Hours per week
Contract Type: 10 -12 months Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £38,960 - £56,010 FTE

Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.

An exciting secondment opportunity has become available for a motivated, self-driven individual with knowledge of audit, inspection and reporting to join the Quality and Compliance team working across substance misuse, housing and community services in the Waythrough Yorkshire and Northwest region.


As a quality and Compliance specialist you will provides independent assurance across the Yorkshire and Northwest region of Waythrough, ensuring services meet quality, regulatory, and contractual standards.


Operating independently from operations, the postholder leads internal inspections, monitors and provides assurance of the management of complaints and incidents, supports regulatory readiness, and maintains a learning loop to drive continuous improvement and contribute to governance, assurance, and learning systems.


To apply for this opportunity, you will require the agreement from your current line manager to ensure they can cover your current role whilst you are seconded to the Quality and Compliance team.

Key Duties

  • Lead internal inspections across services to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and organisational standards

  • Produce clear, evidence-based reports identifying risks, strengths, and required improvements

  • Support and monitor quality improvement plans to drive continuous service improvement

  • Provide expert guidance to operational teams on regulatory requirements (e.g. CQC, Ofsted) and inspection readiness

  • Oversee and assure the effective management of complaints, incidents, and safeguarding practices

  • Identify, assess, and escalate compliance risks, supporting strong governance and assurance processes

  • Analyse performance data and trends to inform decision-making and organisational learning

  • Deliver training, briefings, and guidance to promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement

  • Work collaboratively across teams while maintaining independent oversight and assurance

What you'll bring

  • Experience supporting service improvement and driving quality standards

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

  • Ability to work independently while building effective working relationships across teams

  • Relevant experience in using System One, Reporting and the Hub

  • A desired understanding of regulatory frameworks such as CQC, Ofsted, or equivalent
