Full training will be provided, so the most important qualities are empathy, resilience, a positive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference.

You'll be flexible, able to work independently when required and willing to work across a rota that includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays as part of a 24-hour service.

About Box Tree Farm

Box Tree Farm is a 24-hour Mental Health Crisis House providing short-term recovery-focused support for adults aged 18 and over experiencing a mental health crisis.

Operating 365 days a year, our dedicated team works together to provide a safe, supportive environment where people can begin their recovery journey. We believe recovery is possible for everyone, and by providing the right support at the right time, we empower people to regain confidence, independence and hope.

What You'll Do

As a Casual Recovery Worker at Waythrough's Box Tree Farm Crisis House, you'll support adults experiencing a mental health crisis within a recovery-focused environment.

Working alongside individuals, you'll help develop personalised support plans that promote recovery, independence and wellbeing. Every person's journey is different, and you'll play an important role in helping them achieve their personal goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing compassionate, person-centred support to individuals in crisis.
  • Building trusting relationships that encourage recovery and independence.
  • Supporting people with daily living skills, budgeting and tenancy sustainment.
  • Encouraging access to education, employment, leisure and community opportunities.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver high-quality support.
  • Maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding and organisational procedures.
  • Contributing to a safe, welcoming and recovery-focused environment.

What We Are Looking For

You'll ideally have:

  • A caring, compassionate and non-judgemental approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness to work flexibly as part of a 24/7 rota.
  • An understanding of mental health or lived experience is welcomed but not essential.

No previous experience is required, as comprehensive training and ongoing development will be provided.
