Centrala is a non-profit organisation established in 2009, dedicated to promoting inclusion and
wellbeing for Central and Eastern European communities in England. Using arts and culture, we foster
social integration, mutual respect, and cohesion between diverse cultural groups. Centrala’s activities
span visual arts, music, community development, research, health innovation, and international cultural
connections.
Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and committed Marketing & Communications Officer to join our team. In this
part-time role, you will lead Centrala’s digital presence, manage communications, and promote our arts,
music, and community programmes. You will play a key role in raising awareness, engaging audiences,
and communicating the impact of our work locally, nationally, and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Communications
Develop and deliver a communications strategy to raise Centrala’s visibility across key social media
platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok).
Create, curate, and publish engaging multimedia content (text, images, video) tailored to our
audiences.
Build and manage an active online community, fostering meaningful engagement and dialogue.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on communications and social media activity using analytics to
improve reach and engagement.
Manage targeted campaigns, including paid advertising, to promote events, exhibitions, and
workshops.
Write press releases, blog posts, and news updates for Centrala’s channels.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure all communications reflect Centrala’s values and
objectives.
Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, influencers, and key partners.
Marketing, Design & Event Promotion
Produce promotional materials including flyers, posters, and brochures.
Liaise with printers and suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Manage Centrala’s event listings across platforms (Shopify, Eventbrite, social media).
Coordinate marketing campaigns for events, exhibitions, and community projects.
Maintain and update Centrala’s website content.
Create and distribute newsletters and e-communications.
General
Keep up to date with trends and best practices in digital marketing and communications.
Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support Centrala’s programmes and strategic
goals. Person Specification
Essential
At least 3 years’ experience in marketing, communications, and social media management.
Strong copywriting and visual storytelling skills with a flair for creative communication.
Proficiency in social media management tools, scheduling platforms, and analytics (e.g., Meta
Business Suite, Hootsuite).
Demonstrable design skills and experience producing marketing materials using Adobe Creative
Suite, Canva, or similar tools.
Experience managing multi-channel campaigns across web, social, and print.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, creative team.
Commitment to Centrala’s mission, with enthusiasm for arts, culture, and social impact.
Desirable
Experience working in the arts, cultural, or non-profit sector.
Experience with content creation such as video editing, photography, or audio production.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and website CMS (e.g., WordPress,
Shopify).
Basic knowledge of SEO and online advertising strategies.
