Description

We are hiring for a Full-Time Sales Assistant to join one of our exciting stores based in Hull.

There’s an established team in place, and you will be working directly with them to help create the best customer shopping experience possible. Footasylum is a business that believes in our front-end retail staff.

As a Full-Time Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our brand on the shop floor. You will live and breathe our products, delivering exceptional service to every guest and helping to drive store performance. From day one you’ll receive comprehensive training on product knowledge, service standards and store processes so you can confidently support customers and contribute to a high-performing team.

This role offers regular learning and development opportunities, ongoing coaching and the chance to progress within the business. We invest in our colleagues and encourage people who show the drive and capability to take on additional responsibility and grow their career with us.

The Role:

Your number one objective as a Sales Assistant is to help provide the best shopping experience for our guests. You’ll DEFY ORDINARY by asking insightful questions to understand each customer’s needs and showcasing products with style, creating outfits and suggesting add-ons to enhance their purchase.

  • Greet and welcome customers with a friendly and positive attitude.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, making customers feel valued and ensuring they leave with a great impression of the store.

  • Become an expert on our product range including fit, fabric and care to confidently advise customers.

  • Drive sales by understanding customer needs, recommending suitable products and upselling where appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve store targets and maintain a motivating, customer-focused environment.

  • Maintain store standards — keep the shop floor tidy, visually appealing and merchandised to plan.

  • Operate the till accurately and handle transactions with a friendly manner.

  • Engage in training and development to continually improve product knowledge and customer service skills.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about fashion retail and aligned with our company values. You will be friendly, approachable and confident when starting conversations with customers. Prior retail experience is beneficial but not essential — what matters most is a positive attitude, reliability and a desire to deliver excellent service.

  • Friendly and outgoing with strong communication skills.

  • A customer-first mindset and a genuine interest in fashion and trends.

  • Ability to work full-time hours, including weekends and bank holidays as required.

  • Organised, proactive and able to work well as part of a team.

  • Willingness to learn and take part in ongoing training and development.

Ideal for candidates currently working as Retail Sales Assistants, Customer Service Advisors, Sales Floor Assistants or those seeking a career in store retail.

Diversity:

We recognise and value the importance of diversity to help make sure we have lots of different perspectives when we are providing services to our colleagues and customers. This helps us build a great service which our customers will love. Diversity for us is also about building happy teams full of people that want to learn and be inspired by each other and our different experiences.

Recruitment process:

We review applications on an individual basis, and if we feel you would be a good fit we’ll invite you for a face-to-face chat about the role and to see if we’re a good fit for you.

We value open and honest conversations and collaboration, giving you a chance to learn about what we are doing in an informal and friendly environment. We want to know about you and why you feel this is the opportunity for you.

Footasylum is an equal opportunities employer. Please let us know if there are any reasonable adjustments that need to be made prior to attending an interview.
